The following opportunity is available:

Position Summary: The Development & External Affairs Coordinator is a versatile and dynamic position that supports the activities of the Primary Care Development Corporation's (PCDC) External Affairs and Development departments, including all fundraising, communications, marketing, policy and lobbying efforts. This position reports to the Director of Fundraising and Communications and supports three director-level staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and assist in the execution of PCDC's External Affairs efforts, including:

  • Assisting with media relations, such as drafting press releases, op-eds and media pitches; and helping to track and identify media opportunities and placements;

  • Maintaining and updating electronic and print communications collateral and channels, including drafting e-newsletter stories, website content, social media announcements, brochures, and policy and advocacy briefs;

  • Work closely with Directors to identify and document marketing and new business opportunities;

  • Work closely with Director of External Affairs to ensure accuracy of elected official data, draft lobbying briefs, and coordinate legislative calendars.

Support PCDC's Development & Fundraising efforts, including:

  • Providing team support in researching and identifying potential funding sources, including corporations, foundations and government grants;

  • Drafting and editing grant proposals and reports; compiling and organizing required documents for grant submission;

  • Responsible for updating grant calendar and dashboard, including tracking prospects, proposal deadlines, proposal status, and awards received;

  • Support logistics for Annual Spring Gala including working with vendors, drafting and reviewing printed materials, solicitations, and acknowledgments; updating event budget; and coordinating event RSVPs and followup;

  • Support activities of Board Fundraising Committee, including compiling financial reports, drafting Board memos and other updates as necessary;

  • Responsible for managing Raiser's Edge database to maintain all fundraising and lobbying information.

  • Provide administrative support to Directors, including scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reports, drafting correspondence, building lists and reports, and providing financial information on fundraising efforts as required; plus other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of fundraising, policy, or communications or other relevant
  • experience

  • Knowledge of specific topic/process areas in PCDC's scope and understanding of primary care
  • field a plus

  • Prior experience with Raiser's Edge strongly preferred; experience with Microsoft Office required, additional experience with online fundraising, marketing and social media platforms a plus.

  • Must be excellent writer with proven ability to edit and review documents for a wide range of audiences (writing samples are required) and strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
