About Capital Financing


Do you need financing to build, renovate or expand a primary care facility?


Many neighborhood-based primary care providers cannot access the capital they need to invest in their buildings and in their communities. As the first and largest Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in the country specializing in primary care financing for low-income communities, PCDC provides the capital to build new facilities, expand practices, and upgrade outmoded equipment, leading to better services for more patients.


Our Services



We offer a number of loans at varying terms to meet the diverse needs of primary care providers. Our products include:


  • Pre-construction and property acquisition loans
  • Loans for renovations, expansions and equipment purchases
  • Below market loans for health centers in economically distressed communities
  • Bridge financing for projects with a committed funding source, including state HEAL grants

Program Impact




Improve health and facilitate economic development. PCDC financing allows health centers in underserved communities to both improve the health and economic viability of their communities. PCDC's $260 million capital investment has created more than 2,300 permanent jobs (4,400 with multipliers) and transformed more than 630,000 square feet of space.


Build patient capacity. By building, renovating or expanding sites, health center will impact more patients. With 91 completed projects, PCDC has helped centers purchase new equipment, upgrade information systems, complete major renovations and acquire property, creating 1.75 million additional visits, serving more than 595,000 patients annually.
